Gaining Weight 101

I've realized that when you are a mom, it's easier to gain weight and become fat once your child starts eating real food. After giving birth, I was able to lose the weight I gained when I was pregnant by simply breastfeeding. Surely, breastfeeding did all the wonders for me because I don't exercise and do any dieting. But I started gaining weight again when my son started eating. More so, when he started becoming a picky eater. I give Dwyn his own food. However, most of the time, after 3 spoons, he would say no more na. Unfortunately, if I cannot force him to finish his food, I always end up eating it. Why? Para di sayang! And after a year of doing it, I've regained half of the weight I lost a month after giving birth. Add to that, the fact that my metabolism is starting to become really slower than before.

Unfortunately for us mothers, our hormones go crazy during and after pregnancy. Sorry to say but diet and exercise would be the way to go. Hats off to you for not throwing away the food.

Ann, pareho tayo, I gained the most weight post-partum right after I stopped breastfeeding. When Evan was 19 months I joined weight watchers and them. Mahirap sa umpisa but it didn't take long for me to notice that eating the correct food and exercise made me able to function better.

Happy New Year to you!
